Our Natural Farming Practices

- Small & Local Farmed
- We are your local, small-farm, and we are going to stay that way! From our animals to our homemade products, we will never mass-produce, commercialize, or export to make products or grow animals faster or cheaper. We will always stay your local small farm and produce our homemade products in small-batches. This means at times we will run-out of popular products - but stay-tuned as we will restock in time!
- Pasture & Woodland Raised
- We practice Silvopasturing where we combine trees, forage, and livestock on the same land which helps support biodiversity, soil fertility, and is mutually beneficial to the land and our livestock; in the winter they are supplemented with a locally-sourced hay
- Regeneratively & Sustainably Farmed
- We practice Rotational Grazing and foraging in a manor conducive to our animals' natural desires and habitat, that aims to support soil health and restore natural resources
- No Antibiotics, Growth Hormones, or Steroids
- We allow our pigs, cows, and chickens to grow slow, on pasture & forage, as nature intended, without any unnatural assistance, such as growth hormones, antibiotics, steroids, or unnecessary vaccines, and we use a traceable feed that is locally sourced and freshly milled in Rocky Mount, VA with all-natural ingredients and no added chemicals, dyes or preservatives from EMCO (Exchange Milling Feed Co.)

Our Story
We are Jasmine & Joey - the faces of Huddleston Hog & Highland Homestead.
On our small farm, we raise the Heritage Breeds of Kunekune Pigs and Highland Cows for breeding and meat, and Mixed Breed Chickens for eggs.
We love and honor all of our animals, and take pride in raising them ethically, holistically, and compassionately through their entire lives - from farrow to fork.
Although we both have disabilities, the animals are therapeutic to us and we’ve found the best medicine is a healthy & clean, all-natural, farm-raised diet.
We hope to share with you the therapeutic benefits of animals and the medicinal benefits in our fresh & flavorful Naturally-Raised Heritage Breed meats, Cage-Free Eggs, & Homemade Goods!

This farm is beautiful! The animals are well clean and cared for. We visited and bought pork, beef, and eggs. We tried the beef. Wow, it was so delicious and tender. Really, by far the best sirloin I have ever tasted. I thought the cattle must get lullabies, messages and bed time stories. Happy cows, yummy beef!
I highly recommend meat from here! so tender so good! worth the $$. the animals are so well cared for and loved. the owner is sweet as pie if you haven't purchased, DO. IT! you're getting fresh clean meat and supporting a local farm! we will never buy meat from the grocery store again
